Join the South Essex Homes Board and help shape the future of homes and communities in Southend
At South Essex Homes, we believe that great homes and services are created with residents, not just for them .
We manage and maintain homes across Southend-on-Sea on behalf of Southend-on-Sea City Council, working with our residents and communities to provide quality homes, improve services and make Southend a place where people are proud to live.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Southend-on-Sea City Council tenant to join our Board and help influence the decisions that shape the services residents receive.
You could make a real difference
Our Board brings together people with different experiences, backgrounds, skills and perspectives. We believe that diversity makes us stronger and helps us make better decisions.
As a tenant Board member, your voice and lived experience matter . You will bring an important perspective to our discussions, helping us understand what matters most to residents and ensuring their experiences are considered when decisions are made.
You do not need to have been a Board member before.
We are looking for someone who is curious, enthusiastic and passionate about making a positive difference .
We would particularly welcome people who have knowledge, skills or experience in areas such as housing, business or financial awareness , but we recognise that valuable skills are gained in many different ways, through work, volunteering, community involvement and everyday life .
What matters most is what you can bring
You could be right for this opportunity if you:
- Care about the homes, services and communities of Southend;
- want to help make a positive difference for residents;
- are comfortable sharing your views while listening to and respecting the views of others;
- enjoy working collaboratively as part of a team;
- are willing to learn, develop and sometimes challenge the way we think;
- can help build positive relationships with residents, colleagues, partners and the wider community; and
- share our ambition to provide quality homes, good-value services and positive outcomes for residents.
