Partial Closure Order Secured Following Anti-Social Behaviour
We are pleased to confirm that a Partial Closure Order has been granted for a property in Southend-on-Sea following concerns about ongoing anti-social behaviour.
The order, secured on Wednesday 7 October 2026, allows the tenant to remain in their home while restricting access to other individuals. Anyone who enters the property without permission, other than Southend City Council or South Essex Homes staff, may be arrested.
This outcome was achieved through the joint efforts of the South Essex Property Services Patrol Service and South Essex Homes' Housing Community Safety Team, who worked together to gather the evidence to pursue this se rious enforcement action .
If the tenant allows access to the property, application can be made for mandatory possession which will lead to the tenant losing their home.
Anita McGinley, Housing Community Safety Team Manager said:
"I hope this will provide residents with respite from the continuous and serious anti-social behaviour activity they have endured."
We remain committed to working with our partners to tackle anti-social behaviour and help ensure our neighbourhoods are safe places to live.
