You can find out about your bin collection days by using Southend Council's Waste App, but if you cannot access the app you can call their customer services team on 01702 215006 for this information 

Take care when using bins 

In 2025 we had a fire in the bin room of one of our high rise blocks, which may have been caused by a lit cigarette or other flammable item such as lithium batteries being disposed of down the bin chute. Please be extremely careful when disposing of household waste. Items that could cause a fire such as cigarettes, matches, batteries, especially lithium-ion batteries, must not be put with household waste and never down bin chutes.

Outcome of inspection:


Caretaking/ Ground Maintenance:

  • 4th Floor, Bin Chute Room - Poles and bed slats left next to chute.
  • 8th Floor, Stairwell - Puddle in stairwell.
  • Communal bin area - Fridge freezer and wooden slats have been left. 


Repairs:

  • Even lift, indicator sign not working.
  • 4th Floor, Bin Chute Room - Light not working
  • 5th Floor, Stairwell - Window boarded to stairwell.
  • 5th Floor, Communal corridor - Light not working.
  • 6th Floor, Communal corridor - Floor tile by electrical cupboard damaged.
  • 8th Floor, Communal corridor - Loose floor tile.
  • 8th Floor, Communal corridor - damp cause crack in paintwork on wall.
  • 10th Floor, Communal corridor by lift - Floor tile damaged and needs replacing.
  • 13th Floor, Communal corridor - Light not working.
  • 13th Floor, Communal corridor - Floor tile by electrical cupboard damaged.


Tenancy:

  • Door mats in communal areas.
  • Bags of rubbish left in communal areas.
  • Door bells and wreaths in communal areas.

Other Issues:

  • People sleeping in stairwell, asked to leave and notified security.
