Pancake Day
With the majority of fires in the home starting in the kitchen, we would like to remind you to take extra care this Pancake Day - especially if you are cooking with children.
When using a frying pan or cooking with hot oil, remember:
- Never leave the pan unattended when the heat is switched on
- Do NOT move the pan if it is on fire
- Never put the food in the pan if the oil begins to give off smoke
- If there's a fire, get out, stay out and call us out
- Supervise children in the kitchen at all times
Also, please test your smoke alarm before you start cooking. If you did end up having a kitchen fire, a working smoke alarm will greatly increase your chances of escaping unharmed.
